Valentine's Day Mantel

Paper Heart Garland

It is no secret that Kandi and I love Pinterest.  So when Kandi decided that we should post our creations that are pinterest inspired I was fully on board.

Since valentines day is quickly approaching, I have been "pinning" Valentine ideas like crazy, if you are new to our blog, see my post on Valentine's Day Ideas.  One of my favorite valentine's day ideas was made by Ashley from The Creative Place

This card with it's adorable 3-D hearts was the inspiration for my family room mantel.  As you know I have been a little garland crazy this season.....so it should be no surprise that I have created yet another.

It just did not seem right to have garlands on my stairs, and in my new mud room, and not decorate my mantel.  So here it is....I hope you like it.

Industrial vintage "M" filled with paper

Mercury Glass never goes out of style.  I just added pink so it feels more Valentinish....

Yes the wreath was homemade, inspired by Martha Stewart and it takes 3x longer than she says it will!

My cat is modeling one of my custom "Felted" Pillows (cover designed by my friend and artist Katie Roseveare)

Another Pillow, and yes I have an addiction to J Crew....Edie Tote and Drea Patent Peep-Toe Pumps I have been looking for a post that I can use my purse and shoes as a prop!

Hope you enjoyed my Valentine's Day inspired family room and mantel.  Come back tomorrow for my paper heart garland tutorial.

  1. So many lovely garlands. I especially like the chalkboard painted hearts, and the 3-d hearts.

    1. Thank you Peggy! Roses can be really expensive this time of year, but our local grocery store has clearance flowers, so I bought 3 dozen roses for $15 total. Isn't that amazing! 4 days later they still look great.
